Applying for, or already have, the SEAI grant?

The SEAI Apartment Charging Grant funds the hardware. It doesn't manage who uses it.

The SEAI Apartment Charging Grant (funded by ZEVI) supports Owners' Management Companies (OMCs), landlords and local authorities installing shared EV charging infrastructure at apartment blocks and multi-unit developments, covering cabling, infrastructure and installation costs, whether the OMC chooses individual bay chargers or a shared pool.

Once that infrastructure is in, the grant doesn't cover the part residents actually experience day to day: booking, guest access, or resolving disputes about who used what. De Energy Hub is built for exactly that stage, whether your development is still applying for the grant or the chargers are already installed.

Two access models, same booking clarity

Shared pool or allocated bays: either way, it's booked per unit

Shared pool

Any resident, any charger, time-limited

A smaller number of chargers serve the whole development. Residents book a time-limited session on whichever bay is free, with overstay alerts keeping the pool fair for everyone.

Allocated bays

One charger, one unit, exclusive access

Where a charger is installed for a specific apartment's parking space, only that resident's code unlocks it: simple, private, and booked directly by that unit.

From resident sign-up to every-day booking

Four steps, none of them manual

Once the chargers are onboarded, residents and guests book and charge themselves. No management company admin.

1
Setup, once

Management company issues resident codes

Each apartment or unit gets its own access code, and the management company chooses a shared pool or allocated-bay model per site.

2
Every day

Residents scan, check in and charge

A resident scans the QR code at their bay or any bay in the shared pool, checks in via the app, and charges. Every session is logged automatically against their unit.

3
Visiting family or friends

Guests charge on a temporary code

A resident or the management company issues a guest code with a usage limit and expiry date. No permanent access, no admin burden.

4
Every session

Book, scan, check in and pay: no invoicing step

Every booking (resident or guest) is paid for directly through the app at the time of charging, so there's no separate billing or service charge reconciliation to manage.

💡 No more disputes about who used what: every booking is tied to a resident's own code, whether the development runs a shared pool or allocated bays.
For management companies

One dashboard, every unit, every site in your portfolio

Manage a single block or a whole portfolio of developments from the same account.

🔑

Individual resident access codes

Every unit gets its own code. No shared fobs, no confusion about who's using which charger. Residents book and pay for each session themselves.

Individual codes
👪

Temporary guest codes

Issue time-limited, capped access for visiting family or friends, complimentary or paid, without becoming a permanent user of the estate's chargers.

One profile, every development

Property management companies overseeing several developments list every site on one host profile: bookings, queries and earnings all on one home screen.

Multiple sites

Every De Energy Hub charger, apartment blocks and estates included, runs on Pure, Smart or Boost energy, and Smart Energy in particular helps keep shared charger running costs down for the development.

Apartments & Managed Estates FAQ

Do you offer an EV charging management system for apartment blocks and managed estates?

+
Yes. De Energy Hub is a full EV charging booking system built for shared and allocated apartment parking: individual resident access codes, guest codes, and a host profile covering multiple sites for the OMC or management company.

How do multiple residents share the same charger?

+
Each resident is issued their own access code. Residents scan the QR code at the charger to identify it, then check in via the app to book and start their session, with the option to photograph the charger at check-in and check-out to confirm usage. No shared fobs, and no confusion about who booked the charger and when.

Can bays be allocated to specific apartments, or shared between all residents?

+
Both models work. Some developments allocate a specific bay and charger to a specific unit, booked exclusively by that resident. Others run a shared pool of chargers that any resident can book on a time-limited session, maximising use of a smaller number of chargers.

How do you stop one resident monopolising a shared charger overnight?

+
Shared bays use time-limited bookings with overstay alerts, so a resident is notified before their session ends and again if they overstay, keeping a small pool of chargers fair and available for other residents to book in turn.

Can residents' visitors or family get temporary charging access?

+
Yes. Residents or the management company can issue a temporary guest access code with a usage limit and expiry date, so a visiting family member or friend can charge without becoming a permanent user of the estate's chargers.

Can a property management company manage chargers across several developments?

+
Yes. Property management companies managing multiple apartment blocks or estates can list every development on one De Energy Hub host profile. The home screen shows upcoming bookings, open queries, total earnings by day, week and month, and how many Charging Hubs and Parking Hubs are live across the portfolio.

Does the management company or the residents pay for the electricity?

+
Residents book and pay for their own charging session directly through the app after they scan the QR code and check in at the charger. There's no separate invoicing step for the management company to handle.

Will this mean rewiring the car park or replacing chargers already installed?

+
No rewiring, no replacement units. De Energy Hub adds resident booking on top of whatever chargers are already in the underground garage or car park. Generate a QR code per bay in the app and residents can start booking, whether the OMC installed them years ago or through a recent grant.

We're applying for, or already have, the SEAI Apartment Charging Grant: does De Energy Hub work with it?

+
Yes. The SEAI Apartment Charging Grant, funded by ZEVI, covers the cabling, infrastructure and installation cost of shared EV charging for a development. It doesn't cover managing who uses the chargers day to day. De Energy Hub adds resident booking and guest access on top of grant-funded infrastructure, whether it's already installed or still being applied for.

Every booking, tied to a unit, not a guessing game.

No hardware needed. Works with your existing chargers. De Energy Hub is live now on the App Store and Google Play. Download the app to list your development.
