Can members of the public charge at council or public sector chargers?

Yes. Any driver can scan the QR code at a public charger, whether it's council-owned, at an HSE facility, or another public body, then check in via the app to book, and pay per kWh directly. No permit, account setup with the body, or staff involvement is needed.
Can staff and fleet vehicles have separate access from the public?

Yes. Staff and fleet vehicles, including electric vans, minibuses, patrol cars and other public body vehicles, can be issued their own access codes, tracked separately from public pay-per-kWh sessions on the same charger.
Can one council or public body manage chargers across multiple sites?

Yes. A single De Energy Hub host profile can list chargers across libraries, leisure centres, health facilities, public car parks and depots. The home screen shows upcoming bookings, open queries, total earnings by day, week and month, and how many Charging Hubs and Parking Hubs are on the profile.
Does De Energy Hub support Climate Action Plan or carbon reporting?

Is this suitable for procurement and public spending transparency requirements?

De Energy Hub works with a council or public body's existing chargers with no upfront hardware cost, and the host profile home screen shows total earnings by day, week and month, giving a running picture of usage and revenue for procurement and public spending discussions.
Does this work alongside ZEVI or TII-funded chargers?

Yes. De Energy Hub manages the booking, payment and reporting layer on top of a charger. It doesn't replace or interfere with how the charger was funded or installed, whether that's through Zero Emission Vehicles Ireland (ZEVI), Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII, which took over infrastructure delivery from ZEVI in March 2026), a Climate Action Fund grant, or a council's own capital budget. It works with the hardware you already have on site.
How is driver and staff data protected?

Session and booking data is limited to what's needed to operate the charger: identifying the session, the vehicle type, and the payment or access code used. Councils and public bodies can request a data processing overview as part of onboarding to support their own GDPR and data protection obligations.
Can accessible parking bays be included?

Yes. Accessible EV bays can be set up and booked the same way as standard bays, and flagged so drivers can find them when searching. This sits alongside, not instead of, a council's existing accessible parking permit scheme.
Can overstay be managed in busy public car parks?

Yes. Drivers receive an in-app notification before their session ends and a follow-up alert if they overstay, helping keep EV bays turning over in busy public car parks without requiring staff to patrol.
Can we manage ordinary pay-and-display car parks, not just EV bays?

Yes. The Parking Hub manages standard parking bays the same way the Charging Hub manages EV chargers: QR-based booking and payment, permit-holder bays, overstay alerts and event parking, without requiring a charger at all. It can replace or sit alongside existing pay-and-display machines.
Does this require replacing our existing charger hardware?

No, it sits on top of what's already installed. Whatever chargers a council or public body has today, however they were funded or installed, De Energy Hub adds the booking, payment and reporting layer without new equipment or an engineer visit.
