High-power 3-phase hybrid — 3 MPPTs for complex commercial roofs
The Sungrow SH10RT is one of the most widely deployed 10kW 3-phase hybrid inverters in the Irish commercial market. With 3 independent MPPTs, it can manage solar arrays split across multiple roof sections or orientations without the weaker strings compromising stronger ones. Compatible with both Sungrow SBR and BYD Battery-Box batteries. At 98.4% efficiency it is the highest-efficiency commercial hybrid in this directory. The inverter of choice for Irish farm solar, warehouse rooftops and school installations in the 10–30kWp range.

🏢 Retail & Office
Rate ~€0.22–0.26/kWh. High daytime usage aligns well with solar generation.
Payback: 3–5 years
🏭 Warehouse & Manufacturing
Rate ~€0.26–0.32/kWh. Large roof + high daytime load = strongest commercial ROI.
Payback: 2.5–4 years
🌾 Agriculture (TAMS III)
Rate ~€0.18–0.24/kWh. TAMS III grant up to 60% transforms payback. Apply via Teagasc.
Payback: 1.5–3 years(with TAMS)
Estimates are indicative. Actual payback depends on your electricity tariff, usage profile, system size, roof orientation and applicable grants. Always obtain a site survey and financial model from a qualified commercial solar installer.
🔧 Complete your solar system
The SH10RT 10kW 3-Phase Hybrid is Step 2 — you need panels before it and most Irish homeowners now add battery storage after. Here are the most popular pairings in 2026:
💡 Commercial tip: Most Irish commercial solar installations use LONGi Hi-MO 7 (580W) or JinkoSolar Tiger Neo (580W) panels with this inverter. Fewer panels per kWp means lower mounting and labour costs at scale.
The SH10RT 10kW 3-Phase Hybrid is compatible with all major solar panel brands available in Ireland. See the Solar Panel Directory to compare specifications, pricing and SEAI eligibility for all 13 panels.
The SH10RT 10kW 3-Phase Hybrid supports battery storage. Compatible batteries are listed below. See the Battery Storage Directory for detailed specifications and pricing.
Yes — the SEAI Solar PV Home Grant of up to €1,800 applies to the total installed system cost, which includes the Sungrow SH10RT 10kW 3-Phase Hybrid, panels, mounting hardware, cabling and labour. The grant is not awarded per component. Apply at seai.ie before installation begins and receive a Letter of Offer before work starts. A SEAI-registered contractor is required.
The Sungrow SH10RT 10kW 3-Phase Hybrid carries a 10-year product warranty from Sungrow. In practice, quality inverters from Sungrow frequently operate for 15–20 years before requiring replacement. The key factors for longevity are: installation in a cool, shaded, well-ventilated location (not in direct sunlight); proper cable termination torque during installation; and regular firmware updates through iSolarCloud.
Sungrow's iSolarCloud has improved significantly since 2023 — real-time generation, battery state of charge, consumption analytics and export tracking are all available. The mobile app is well-regarded and improving with each update. It does not yet match FusionSolar in polish, but it covers all the data most Irish homeowners need.
Yes — the Sungrow SH10RT 10kW 3-Phase Hybrid includes backup power capability. When connected to a compatible battery (Sungrow SBR or BYD Battery-Box), it automatically switches to backup mode during a grid outage, keeping designated circuits live with a switchover time of under 20ms.
Check your electricity meter and the main circuit breaker in your distribution board. A single-phase supply has one live wire (brown), one neutral (blue) and one earth (green-yellow). A 3-phase supply has three live wires (brown, black, grey), one neutral and one earth — and your main breaker will be a 3-pole or 4-pole type. Most Irish commercial properties, farms, industrial units and larger homes above ~200m² are 3-phase. Your ESB Networks connection agreement will also confirm this. If uncertain, ask a RECI-registered electrician to check before ordering your inverter.
Multiple schemes may apply: the SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen grant for smaller commercial systems; TAMS III providing up to 60% grant aid for qualifying agricultural buildings; and Accelerated Capital Allowance (ACA) through Revenue allowing the full capital cost (including the Sungrow SH10RT 10kW 3-Phase Hybrid) to be written off against corporation tax in year one. The SEAI Better Energy Communities scheme may also apply for community projects. Verify current eligibility at seai.ie before contracting — grant values and thresholds are updated annually.
A string inverter converts DC solar energy to AC for immediate use or grid export — but cannot charge a battery. A hybrid inverter does the same, and also includes an integrated battery management system (BMS) that can charge and discharge a connected battery storage unit. The Sungrow SH10RT 10kW 3-Phase Hybrid is a hybrid inverter — battery storage can be added now or in future. The cost gap between hybrid and string inverters has narrowed significantly — most Irish installers now default to hybrid for all new residential installations.
The SH10RT supports up to ~30kWp of solar panels in a 3-phase commercial configuration. At 580W commercial panels (LONGi Hi-MO 7 or JinkoSolar Tiger Neo 580W), this is approximately 52 panels for 30kWp. In practice, most Irish commercial installs using the SH10RT are in the 10–20kWp range (18–35 commercial panels). For systems above 30kWp, multiple SH10RT units or a dedicated commercial string inverter (Sungrow SG50CX) is required.
A 20kWp warehouse system generates approximately 18,000 kWh/year. At a commercial electricity rate of €0.28/kWh (mid-point for Irish SMEs in 2026), this represents €5,040/year in electricity savings. Installed cost for a 20kWp system including the SH10RT hybrid, panels, mounting and labour: approximately €18,000–22,000. SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen grant may apply. Estimated payback: 3.5–4.5 years. After payback, 20+ years of near-free electricity. Accelerated Capital Allowance allows the full capital cost to be written off against corporation tax in year one.
