Does offering EV charging help me get more bookings?

It can. Platforms including Airbnb let guests filter listings specifically by EV charger availability. A bookable, trackable charger is a stronger listing feature than an informal arrangement, and gives EV-driving guests confidence before they book.
Should I include EV charging free, or charge separately?

Both models work well on De Energy Hub. Some hosts bundle charging into the nightly rate and waive the fee entirely, using it to attract EV-driving guests. Others bill per kWh so guests only pay for what they use. You can switch between the two, or run promo codes for specific bookings.
Is free or discounted charging deducted automatically, or does the guest pay and get refunded?

Deducted automatically. Whether charging is included free in the stay or discounted for a repeat guest, the code is calculated and shown on the booking review screen before payment, so the guest sees the final price up front.
Do I need to charge VAT on electricity I sell to guests?

VAT treatment of electricity resold to guests can vary, so it's worth confirming the correct approach with Revenue or your accountant. De Energy Hub logs the exact kWh delivered and cost for every session automatically, so you have clear records whichever treatment applies.
Will guests need to bring their own charging cable?

Yes, typically. As with most Irish holiday let and Airbnb chargers, guests bring their own Type 2 or Mode 3 cable, the same way they would when charging at any public or private Type 2 point.
What happens if I'm not on-site when a guest wants to charge?

Guests can book charging, parking, or both together in advance through the app, or scan the QR code at the charger and check in themselves on arrival, no key box, code, or in-person handover needed either way. This fits naturally alongside self check-in, which most Irish holiday lets and Airbnb properties already offer.
Can guests contact me if there's a problem?

Yes. Guests can message you directly through the app with questions or to report an issue, even if you're off-site. As soon as you reply, the guest gets an in-app notification.
